The easiest trips from Singapore are the ones you can take without burning much annual leave - and 2027’s public-holiday calendar hands you several. Here are the long weekends worth planning around, and which getaway fits each one.
Singapore’s 2027 long weekends
The Ministry of Manpower gazetted 11 public holidays for 2027. Five of them fall so that you get a long weekend with no leave at all.

Beyond those five, a couple of midweek holidays reward a little leave: Hari Raya Puasa (Wed 10 Mar) bridges into a longer break, and in May Hari Raya Haji (Mon 17 May) and Vesak Day (Thu 20 May) sit in the same week - a few days of leave stitches them into a long stretch. Deepavali falls on Thursday 28 October.
Match the trip to the break
A two-day weekend (near trips): JB, Batam or Bintan are ideal when you only have Saturday and Sunday plus one holiday. The crossing is short, entry is simple, and you can leave after work and be there the same evening. See how to get to JB, the Batam ferry guide and the Bintan ferry guide.
A bridged four to five days (flights): with a day or two of leave around a Monday or Friday holiday, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Bali come into range. See Singapore to KL and Singapore to Bangkok.
Book early
Peak periods fill up fast, so lock in transport and rooms as soon as your dates are set, and travel out early or late in the day to dodge the worst of the crowds.
